Ballast Controls

Douglas supplies a variety of controls for Electronic Dimming Ballasts, which dim any type of Fluorescent Lighting that utilizes a 0-10V Dimming Signal.

Dimming Ballasts

Controls for dimming fluorescent lighting loads are commonplace in most types of buildings.

Fluorescent dimming ballasts can be controlled from architectural dimming control systems, manual wall box dimmers and daylight harvesting systems.

The most common type of dimming ballasts that is used with fluorescent lighting utilizes a 0-10 volt signal to set the dimming level. At the lowest setting, the light level output is as low as 5%. At the highest setting, the light level output is 100%.

Douglas Ballast Controls

Douglas manufactures and supplies a variety of controls for dimming ballasts the use the 0-10 volt control method.
These products include:

  • Wall Dimmers, for adjusting channels
of up to 50 dimming ballasts from one device. Available
wall control devices include two channel or one channel
    with ON/OFF control.
  • Regulating Daylight Sensor, a ceiling-mounted light sensor for regulating dimming ballasts to maintain a constant room light level when ambient light changes.
  • Ballast Control Module, an interface module that allows fluorescent dimming ballasts to be
controlled by an ALC3 Dimming Control Station.
  • LonWorks 12- Output Ballast Controller, a LonWorks-compliant 12-output controller that can control up to 50 dimming ballasts per output.
  • Satellite Panel Dimming , an add-on module to provide constant light control for daylight harvesting.
